What is it?
LIFX Smart Light Bulb is an advanced model of the intelligent light bulb LIFX Smart Light Bulb, which received new features. LIFX besides the standard radiates infrared light (950 nm) to improve the night vision of infrared security cameras. Like the first version, the light bulb is controlled by a smartphone via a mobile application, however LIFX supports and the inclusion of a standard switch. LIFX has its own application that supports installation on smartphones and tablets based on iOS, Android and Windows 10.
Externally LIFX is no different from the first version. Its minimalistic design fits perfectly into any room and organically looks with any luminaire. The case of the light bulb is made of opaque white plastic, it has no images and inscriptions, except for the brand logo. The upper part is made of frosted glass, has a flat shape and hides the LEDs behind it. The maximum brightness is 1100 lumens.
LIFX is suitable for use in outdoor luminaires, but these luminaires must protect it from direct water ingress. In addition, the light bulb can be used in bathrooms and other rooms with a high level of humidity.
How does it work?
Enable and configure LIFX Smart Light Bulb is simple: just install it in the cartridge instead of the standard incandescent lamp. LIFX supports dual control: it can be turned on and off by the standard switch of the device in which it is installed. In this mode, LIFX works like a normal light bulb. To manage using mobile LIFX, you need to connect to your home Wi-Fi network. In the LIFX application (in English), the user can remotely activate the light bulb, change the brightness, tint (choosing from 16 million colors) and other glow parameters, and set up the schedule of its operation. Infrared light is also activated in the application. In addition to LIFX, the light bulb supports the applications of the smart home Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
LIFX Smart Light Bulb is not only coziness in the house, but also care for the environment. The light bulb uses LEDs whose service life is 22.8 years when working about 3 hours a day. In addition, the LED lamp in the maximum brightness mode consumes only 13 watts, and in standby mode less than 0.5 watts.
